It is no secret that former Vice President Dick Cheney is no fan of the sitting president. In an interview with Playboy, the VP laid all of his cards on the table:
“I look at Barack Obama and I see the worst president in my lifetime, without question.”
The interview, conducted by Fox News’ James Rosen, grappled with several topics such as Cheney’s position in both Bush presidencies and his opinions on Russia, Ferguson, and fishing rights.
However, the conversation focused on President Obama. Cheney said:
“I used to have significant criticism of Jimmy Carter, but compared to Barack Obama and the damage he is doing to the nation—it’s a tragedy, a real tragedy, and we are going to pay a hell of a price just trying to dig out from under his presidency.”
Cheney’s comments on President Obama have sparked a fair amount of controversy — especially his claim that Obama and his supporters deflect criticism with the “race card.”
“Certainly we haven’t given up—nor should we give up—the right to criticize an administration and public officials. To say that we criticize, or that I criticize, Barack Obama or Eric Holder because of race, I just think it’s obviously not true. My view of it is the criticism is merited because of performance—or lack of performance, because of incompetence. It hasn’t got anything to do with race.”
Cheney’s comments have received strong reactions over social media, both in favor and against:
Dick Cheney saying Barack Obama is the worst president is like George Lazenby saying Daniel Craig is the worst Bond.

.@EWErickson People who think Barack Obama is a Muslim are the same people who think Dick Cheney was a Christian.

According to USA Today, President Obama has claimed that President Bush and Vice President Cheney undermined the military strength of the United States with their invasion of Iraq in 2003 and damaged alliances worldwide in the process.
